Chevy Colorado Sideboards
I drive a 2016 Chevy Colorado pickup truck and when I bought it used it didn’t have any sideboards on it. My three year old, despite being tall for his age, can’t climb into the back seat on his own because the truck is too tall. I was looking arond for sideboards and found a lot of expensive options but ultimately decided to try out some cheap ebay nerf bars from “Off Road Truck Mart” after reading in the forums that people had had good luck with them.
The seller was easy to work with and they shipped them out promptly. When they arrived and I looked at the instructions (pictured below) I was like “this is a joke!” I had no clue what I was looking at or what to do!
However, after some googling and youtube searching I found this youtube video which, despite being a different brand/style of rails, has the same mounting brackets and explains how to install them. Once I watched that the install was pretty straightforward and I got it done in about an hour. The quality of them does look a bit cheap, especially some of the welds. I think they look pretty good on the truck, though. Most importantly, my son can get into the back seat on his own now!
