Let The Good Times Roll!
The Kawasaki “Good Times” demo tour came to the Fay Myers dealership this weekend so I went down and did a couple demo rides.
It was pretty crowded and my time was limited so I was only able to get two rides in but they were both on bikes I was interested in so it was a fun time.
The first bike was a 2022 Z650rs:
A few weeks ago I bought a used rain barrel with a spigot already installed off of FB marketplace for only $25. I bought the EarthMinded Flexifit Universal Diverter System kit off of amazon to route the water from my downspout to the barrel. I liked the looks of this kit because it included everything I needed in cluding the saw hole drill bits.
Originally I was just going to put the barrel up on cinder blocks to get it elevated but they weren’t getting it particularly high, they didnt look good, and were difficult to level on the slope I was putting the barrel.
Intro I went to the Overland Expo Mountain West in Loveland, CO this weekend with my father-in-law and brother-in-law and we test rode a bunch of motorcycles. Triumph, Yamaha and Ducati had demo bikes available, but sadly Ducati was all booked up so we couldn’t ride any of them. Interestingly, I never saw anyone riding the Ducatis so I don’t know what the deal with them was. Oh well, we still had a ton of fun and test rode a bunch of different Triumphs as well as doing a Yamaha guided ride.
Intro I have an old Lenovo Thinkpad T430 that I decided to upgrade. These laptops are pretty well renowned as being some of the last great thinkpads and as such people have found lots of ways to keep them relevant even 10+ years later.
I got most of my inspiration for this project from The Definitive T430 Modding Guide as well as the ThinkWiki Hardware Modifications page. I decided to upgrade the display, keyboard, ram, and hard drive.
When I purchased my F800GT off of craigslist the service light was on. The previous owner said that he did the oil changes himself and that the BMW dealership would charge $150+ to reset the light. He obviously didn’t want to pay that so he just left the light on and said it didn’t bother him.
I am not the huge fan of it so I decided to get a OBD reader to reset it myself.
